Role Overview:
Brilliant Financial Staffing is assisting our client in the search for an Accounts Payable Specialist to become a vital member of our client’s accounting team. This role will be located in Elmhurst, IL. In this role, you’ll ensure invoices and payments are processed accurately and on schedule. You’ll also help nurture strong vendor relationships and safeguard the financial health of the business, all while collaborating with a knowledgeable, high-performing team in a dynamic dealership environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review, verify, and secure necessary approvals for all invoices prior to payment.
• Prepare and issue checks, ensuring proper signatures and timely distribution (managing approximately 75–100 invoices per day).
• Handle check requests promptly and accurately.
• Audit and process corporate credit card statements.
• Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies or payment issues, coordinating with both vendors and internal teams.
• Answer vendor inquiries, reconcile statements, and keep account balances current.
• Assist with month-end close activities.
• Support annual 1099 preparation and year-end audit requests as needed.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of high-volume accounts payable experience.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Comfortable working in Microsoft Excel daily, ability to adapt quickly without hesitation.
• Experience with VLOOKUPs or other Excel data tools.
• A degree in accounting, finance, or related field (not required).
