Assistant Controller- Financial Services
Assistant Controller- Financial Services-$160K
Successful PE firm is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Financial Controller to join their dynamic finance team. Reporting directly to the Controller and CFO, the Assistant Financial Controller will play a critical role in overseeing and managing the financial operations of the firm.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in financial management within a private equity or real estate environment.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all financial reporting and accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Manage and mentor the accounting team, providing leadership and guidance to ensure high performance and professional development.
- Prepare and review financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses.
- Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors and ensuring timely and accurate completion of audit requirements.
- Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with the CFO and senior management to support strategic decision-making and operational efficiencies.
- Utilize Yardi software to manage property and portfolio financials, ensuring accurate and timely data entry and reporting.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a senior management role within private equity or real estate.
- Strong understanding of financial regulations, accounting principles, and best practices.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
