Pay Range: $27 - $29/hour

Role Overview: Brilliant Financial Staffing has been engaged in the search for a Staff Accountant. Our client located in North Aurora, IL is looking for a Staff Accountant to join their team on a Contract-to-Hire basis. They are seeking an individual with 3+ years of experience, a Bachelor's degree, and someone that is comfortable with month-end responsibilities. Key Responsibilities: 

• Prepares, records, and enters journal entries involving cash, AR, inventory, prepaid accruals, and various intercompany transactions in an accurate & timely manner - 50 transactions per month
• Assists in the monthly financial closing process by reconciling various general ledger accounts and providing account analysis & support
• Reconciles bank accounts.
• Maintains fixed assets depreciation schedule
• Oversees monthly physical inventory counts, coordinating issues & results with warehouse staff
• Processes payroll journal entries provided by HR
• Prepares 1099’s on an annual basis.
• Files sales taxes to meet all requirements while avoiding overpayment 
• Assists with the year-end audit by providing financial documentation to auditors.
• Regularly interacts and responds to the needs and requests of internal customers such as General Managers, process owners (AR, AP, Payroll, IT, etc.), functional supervisors, and operations staff in a timely and professional manner.
• Maintains a strong internal control environment emphasizing standardizing business transactions, and monitoring routines performed by field personnel. 
• Supervises the accounts receivable staff.
• Communicates courteously and professionally with co-workers, management, clients, and others.
•  Must be willing to cross-train with various accounting personnel to gain diverse knowledge and skills
• Various ad-hoc analysis as requested

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of full-cycle accounting and month-end exposure (open to candidates with 10+ years)
• Must be tech-savvy with strong attention to detail
• Excel: Must be comfortable in Excel, not expert level but comfort working in existing v-lookups and pivot tables
• Accounting or finance degree is required
