Accountant

Brilliant Financial Staffing has been engaged in the search for an Accountant. Our client located in Chicago, IL is looking for an Accountant to join their team on a Contract-to-Hire basis. They are seeking someone with 3+ years of experience and knowledge of GAAP, AP, and AR. Qualified candidates are encouraged to apply immediately. 

Accountant Responsibilities: 

• Maintaining the Accounts Payable function: entering vendor invoices, setting up electronic payments, and reconciling vendor statements.
• Maintaining monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Processing daily cash receipts from clients
• Help monitor and support time entry and timekeeping compliance
• Monitor & approve employee expense reimbursements
• Supporting the monthly financial close through journal entry preparation

Accountant Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
• 3+ years’ experience and working knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), AP, AR, and General Ledger
• Systems: Workday and Excel (Advanced)
• Detail oriented, organized, and enjoys problem solving
• High energy, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude
