Accounting Clerk
Brilliant Financial Staffing has been engaged in a search for an Accounting Clerk with our client located in Romeoville, IL. Our client is a mid-sized mechanical company who has been established for many years. They currently are seeking an Accounting Clerk to join their organization to assist them in multiple areas within their department. The ideal candidate would be available to interview and then start shortly after in order to be given proper training. This Accounting Clerk will be hired on a temporary to permanent basis and be reporting to the Accounting Manger.
Accounting Clerk Responsibilities:
- Verifying the accuracy of customer invoices and other accounting records using detailed reconciliation skills
- Calculating and entering expenditures/payable invoices for weekly payment processing
- Performing credit reference checks on all potential new customers
- Preparing documents and making accounts receivable inquiries to customers with past due balances to include sending account statements and updating a company-wide credit hold list
- Recording and processing funds received plus posting those transactions to the correct accounts
- Assistance with month-end close activities
- Maintaining regular contact with Accounting Manager or other departments to obtain and convey information and/or to correct transactions
- Complete special projects and miscellaneous assignments as required
Accounting Clerk Qualifications:
- Intermediate Excel skills - doing formulas, functions, formatting etc
- 2+ years of recent AR experience, collections and cash applications is important
- Able to pay attention to minute details
- Must have excellent communication and organizational skills
- Able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Analytical and problem resolution skills a must
