Senior Audit Consultant
Job Title: Senior Audit Consultant
Location: Deerfield, IL (Hybrid - Local Candidates Only)
Salary Range: $60-70/hour

Role Overview:
Our client, a large Fortune 500 chemical manufacturing firm, is seeking a Senior Audit Consultant on a long-term project in 2025. This position will be responsible for leading operational audits, primarily focused on audits of newly acquired companies and facilities. The role involves performing walkthroughs and interviews with business owners and stakeholders, developing risk/control matrix, testing strategies, and documentation. This position will work alongside the existing Audit team and work closely with the Audit Manager and Director. This is a contract position expected to continue through the Fall of 2025.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage internal audit projects, including risk identification, planning, scoping, process walkthroughs, documentation, and reporting findings with actionable recommendations.
- Evaluate the accuracy, reliability, and integrity of financial and operational information.
- Apply deep knowledge of audit concepts and risk assessment to identify and evaluate risks in a global business environment.
- Identifies and documents issues arising from the audit work and presents findings to senior management.
- Offer suggestions to continuously improve the department's position, people, and processes.
- Examine key operational processes and business risks and tests controls in place to mitigate risks.
- Assist the Data Analytics team by investigating anomalies and trends in high-risk areas.
- Assist in development and drafting of policies and guidelines for the global Internal Audit group.
Qualifications:
- B.A. degree in Accounting, CPA or CIA preferred
- 7-10 years of progressive audit experience
- 2-3 years of experience within Big4 public accounting preferred
- Experience with data science, analytics, and visualization tools and techniques.
- Willingness and ability to learn and work both independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively within a team.
- Strong presentation and communication skills to interact with executives.
