Business Analyst
Job Title: Business Analyst - OSP
Location: Irving, TX 75038
Salary Range: 6 month CTH - $50 - $55/Hr W2
Benefits: Once converted, unlimited PTO, 4% match on 401K, benefits start first day
Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Business Analyst with expertise in the Outside Plant (OSP) industry to support the planning, execution, and optimization of fiber optic and telecommunications infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will work closely with engineering, project management, and IT teams to analyze business needs, improve processes, and provide data-driven insights that enhance operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
• Business & Data Analysis: Collect, analyze, and interpret OSP-related data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
• Process Optimization: Evaluate and enhance workflows related to fiber design, permitting, and construction to improve project timelines and cost efficiency.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as a liaison between OSP engineering, IT, finance, and operations teams to define business requirements and ensure alignment with company objectives.
• Reporting & Dashboards: Develop reports and dashboards to provide visibility into project progress, budgets, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Requirements Gathering: Elicit and document business and technical requirements for OSP tools, GIS systems, and workflow automation improvements.
• System Implementation & Support: Assist in the implementation of OSP management tools, ensuring system configurations meet business needs.
• Market & Regulatory Analysis: Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory requirements, and emerging technologies to provide strategic recommendations.
Qualifications:
• 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in the telecommunications or OSP industry.
• Strong understanding of OSP network design, fiber construction, and permitting processes.
• Proficiency in Excel, SQL, GIS tools (ArcGIS, QGIS), and data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI).
• Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to translate business needs into actionable insights.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and project management tools (JIRA, Confluence, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications:
• Knowledge of OSP management software (e.g., 3-GIS, Vetro FiberMap, Bentley Comms).
• Experience with cost-benefit analysis and financial modeling in telecom projects.
• Understanding of regulatory compliance (FCC, local permitting, ROW requirements).
