Are you an experienced accounting professional seeking a dynamic and hybrid opportunity in the architecture and engineering (A/E) industry? We’re looking for a Senior Project Accountant to join a highly respected and established firm with a national presence. As the Senior Project Accountant, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting the Controller in managing the company’s financial and accounting practices. You will work closely with project managers to provide accurate financial insights, ensure smooth project accounting operations, and contribute to the firm's financial health and success. The SPA position offers a clear path for professional development, with opportunities to grow technical skills, leadership abilities, and firm knowledge. This role is designed to progress into an Assistant Controller position.

Responsibilities

•    Set up and review contracts and projects.

•    Conduct project management plan and status reviews with project managers.

•    Coordinate and approve subconsultant invoices.

•    Oversee the billing cycle, invoicing, client billing websites, and subconsultant management.

•    Support project managers with A/R management and collections.

•    Facilitate project close-outs.

•    Assist with journal entries, bank reconciliations, and monthly closings.

•    Contribute to payroll and benefits administration.

•    Support A/P functions and financial analysis.

•    Participate in vendor audits and applications, including R&D credits, tax compliance, and financial reporting.

Qualifications:

•    Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (CPA preferred).

•    5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in the architecture or engineering industry.

•    Proficiency with A/E project accounting software (e.g., Deltek Ajera, Vantagepoint, or similar).

•    Experience working with multiple office locations.
